Yes. Lil’ Wayne Shot Nine Videos Last Weekend…
How many videos did you shoot last weekend? Or, last decade? Ahead of a jail stint, Lil’ Wayne recently shot a string of nine videos over a 48 hour period, according to details shared by MTV. The vids were directed by David Rousseau, and Wayne and the Cash Money team could qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records.
Wayne is currently being sentenced on a weapons possessions charge, and the start date is rapidly approaching. “We’re trying to get maximum coverage for Wayne,” Rousseau relayed. “Most of the time we only shot Wayne’s verses — we’ll finish the rest of the videos off in the next couple of weeks.” The shoot period spanned roughly 48 hours, starting Friday and ending just ahead of the Super Bowl.
The sentence is clearly disrupting schedules, though criminal run-ins typically boost the image of rappers. Just recently, T.I. served a similarly-short jail term, and maximized the resulting publicity. The broader social commentary is hardly redeeming, though Wayne scores serious points for hard work, a quality shared by a number of similarly-successful entertainers.
