SoundExchange Holding Over $200 Million In Unpaid Artist Royalties…

At SXSW recently, SoundExchange was trying to match $1 million in unpaid artist royalties. But the non-profit is holding an unpaid royalty account of more than $200 million, according to documents obtained by Digital Music News and information shared directly by the company. And, given the growth arcs, the amount may be quite a lot more.

SoundExchange Q1 Payouts Top $51.7 Million…

SoundExchange paid out $51.7 million in non-interactive, US-based radio royalties during the first quarter, a record for the group. The figure was shared exclusively this morning with Digital Music News and the New York Times, ahead of a broader announcement. The payout represents a record sum for the organization, and traverses online radio, satellite, and cable television sources.
