Simon Fuller’s Dream Factory: Coming In Early 2010…

Susan Boyle is ‘dreaming the dream,’ for better or for worse, though her sudden stardom only spells upside for Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment.  Now, Fuller is pushing a new entertainment concept, appropriately dubbed ‘If I Can Dream,’ and major media properties are rallying around the effort. Currently, the partner list includes Clear Channel Radio, Hulu, MySpace, Pepsi, and Ford.

So what is this new concept?  ‘If I Can Dream’ is a multi-platform show that will follow three aspiring actors, a model and a musician as they try to make it in Hollywood.  That is the starting crew, though others will be rotated into the show over time.  Across television, the web, and a host of social networking outlets, viewers will have the opportunity to interact with the contestants, and shape the outcome. “The next frontier is the video world of authentic real-time interaction,” Fuller stated.  “‘If I Can Dream’ experiments with technology to provide for the first time a complete open-door opportunity that allows the viewer to experience reality in a way never before attempted.”

The action starts early next year, and aspects of the series will be spread across different partners.  The main site, IfICanDream.com, will offer 24-7 coverage, and Hulu will offer weekly recaps that resemble traditional episodes.  Clear Channel stations will promote the action through its terrestrial and online outlets, and MySpace will offer the platform for hopefuls to audition for the show.
