Actually, the band updates are part of a larger feed integration involving MySpace and Facebook public pages, as well as relevant Twitter posts. But according to iLike brain Ali Partovi, music is – of course – the most important part. “What I think is most relevant perhaps is music,” Partovi told Digital Music News at SanFran MusicTech on Monday. “Take anything relevant in the world of music – for example – Weezer just canceling their tour,” Partovi said, referring to an unfortunate bus crash outside of Albany, NY, on Sunday. “That news will eventually make it into the mainstream. But much faster, Weezer blogged about it on MySpace Music, and that will instantly make it into the activity stream, and into Google.”
The real-time rollout shifts the feel of results, and offers a more energized search experience. Earlier, the search behemoth announced the integration of Twitter feeds, and the updated results are now being spread across the English-speaking world.
